Synchronized Swimming

Synchronized swimming requires a remarkable combination of strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, coordination, body control, and breath management. Athletes must maintain precise positions and movements while working against resistance in the water and coordinating their movement with teammates. At Performance Health & Rehab, we tailor our approach to these unique demands and help athletes develop the physical qualities that support their performance in the pool.

Building Strength & Endurance

Our training may focus on core strength, hip and shoulder stability, mobility, muscular endurance, balance, and overall strength. We consider the repetitive nature of training and the demands of maintaining controlled positions for extended periods, creating exercises that build the capacity needed to perform those movements consistently.

Complementing Pool Training & Rehabilitation

Technical training in the water remains essential for developing skills, routines, timing, and synchronization. Our role is to complement that work outside of the pool by strengthening the muscles and movement patterns that support it. When an athlete is recovering from an injury, we can progressively rebuild the strength, mobility, endurance, and control needed for their specific movements before transitioning them back into full pool training and routine work.
