Martial Arts
Martial arts require athletes to produce and absorb force while moving with speed, precision, balance, coordination, and control. At Performance Health & Rehab, we tailor our training to the specific discipline and demands of each martial artist, considering the positions, movements, ranges of motion, and physical requirements involved in their practice and competition.

Developing Strength, Power & Mobility
Our process may incorporate strength training, rotational power, core stability, mobility, balance, conditioning, and movement control. We focus on developing the physical qualities that support kicking, striking, grappling, changing positions, and producing or absorbing force. Training is individualized based on the athlete's discipline, experience, and goals.
Complementing Technical Practice & Rehabilitation
Martial arts instructors are responsible for teaching technique, combinations, forms, tactics, and sport-specific skills. Our role is to complement that technical instruction by developing the physical capacity behind it. When an athlete is returning from an injury, we progressively rebuild the strength, mobility, stability, conditioning, and ability to produce and absorb force needed for their specific discipline before working toward a full return to training and competition.
