Dance

Dance requires a unique combination of mobility, strength, balance, coordination, endurance, and control. At Performance Health & Rehab, we understand that dancers need to develop strength without losing the mobility required for their technique. Our approach is tailored to the demands of each dancer and their style of dance, helping them build the physical foundation needed to support their technique, recovery, performance goals, and longevity.

Strength, Mobility & Control

Our process may incorporate resistance training, Pilates-based exercises, core training, foot and ankle strengthening, balance work, mobility training, and conditioning. Rather than focusing solely on increasing flexibility or repeating dance movements, we work to help dancers develop the strength and control necessary to actively use the range of motion they already have and safely work toward the range they need.

Complementing Dance Technique & Rehabilitation

Dance teachers and choreographers develop a dancer's technique, artistry, musicality, and performance skills. Our role is to complement that training by developing the physical qualities that support those skills. Whether a dancer is preparing for a demanding season, working toward greater stability in turns and jumps, or returning from an injury, our training is designed to work alongside their existing dance education. When an injury occurs, our rehabilitation process is tailored to the specific demands of dance, helping dancers rebuild strength, mobility, stability, and confidence before gradually progressing them back toward their technical training and performance goals.
