Figure Skating
Figure skating requires strength, balance, coordination, mobility, power, and precise control, often while performing on a single blade and moving through repeated jumps, spins, and landings. At Performance Health & Rehab, we tailor our training and rehabilitation to the unique physical demands of skating, helping athletes build the strength and stability necessary to support their technical skills both on and off the ice.

Building Strength & Stability
Our process can focus on single-leg strength, ankle and foot stability, rotational control, core strength, landing mechanics, balance, and explosive power. We identify the physical demands behind an athlete's skating skills and develop those qualities through targeted strength and conditioning rather than relying solely on repeated practice of the skill itself.
Complementing On-Ice Training & Rehabilitation
Your skating coach focuses on skating technique, jumps, spins, edges, choreography, and competition preparation. Our role is to build the physical foundation that supports that technical work. Following an injury, we use a progressive rehabilitation process that addresses the specific demands of skating, rebuilding strength, balance, landing control, and confidence before gradually returning the skater to on-ice training and full participation.
